MORE ABOUT THESE BOOKS
Hong Kong boasts a significant diversity for such a small geographic territory with more than 40 species of snake, including 9 that are highly venomous as well as 6 native and many more introduced species of turtle. Bright red mountain racers, vibrant yellow beauty snakes, giant pythons and even king cobras make up just a small number of the many wonderful snakes that can be found on the trails and rural locations around Hong Kong. Far less common to encounter are the cryptic turtles including the Beale’s four-eyed turtle, big-headed turtle, and wattle-necked softshell just to name a few.
Author and photographer Adam Francis spent over 5 years in total locating and documenting the numerous snake and turtle species of Hong Kong in order to produce these guides based almost entirely on first hand experience, and as a result ensuring the quality and accuracy of the information provided. With hundreds of photographs and nearly 300 pages of content these field guides will provide the reader the ability to easily identify and learn more about the many snakes and amazing turtles of Hong Kong.
